You start walking around 2 AM

and you can be at the top by sunrise. Moses mountain is 2285m, and on the top you will find the Chapel of the Holy Trinity....

So you know.....you will not be the only one to walk. Every night there are people from all over the world that makes this sacred journey....

After coming down from the mountain you can visit the monastery...

St.Catherines monastery

is located at the foot of mount Moses, and was constructed between 527 and 565 by order of the Emperor Justinian.

It is built around what is thought to be Moses Burning Bush

The monastery has art from Arabic mosaics, Greek and Russian icons, western oilpaintings and much more.

It also have one of the largest collections of illuminated manuscripts in the world.

St.Catherines monastery is said to be the oldest working Christian monastery in the world, and is run by Greek Orthodox monks.
